The venues
A network of cultural partners for Belgian jazz
The objective of the dissemination network put in place by the non-profit association is to efficiently and sustainably structure and support the dissemination of Belgian jazz. This issue is at the heart of the missions that the non-profit association Les Lundis d’Hortense pursues in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
A support system for dissemination
We focus our selection on identifying quality projects that we believe it is appropriate to follow so as to ensure their promotion and dissemination. The system is open to all Belgian jazz musicians or those residing in Belgium. The selection is made through the blind listening of the submitted projects and a vote by the Board of Directors and the partner venues.
Actions undertaken with artists and partner venues
For the artistic projects selected by the non-profit association, tailor-made support on dissemination issues, support for public appearances at international festivals or trade fairs. For the programming structures that host the selected projects, we provide financial, organizational and promotional support to the partner venues.
Our network of venues makes it possible to efficiently and sustainably support the dissemination of Belgian jazz throughout the country.
Partner venues
Our network of partner venues hosts jazz concerts all year round.
The Jazz Tour
10 different Belgian jazz groups to discover in 2024-2025 in Wallonia and Brussels
The cream of the blue note in Belgium
For years now, Les Lundis d’Hortense have been touring Belgium, stopping off at clubs and cultural centres for a jazz concert. We call them the “Jazz Tour”.
Throughout the year, Les Lundis d’Hortense give around ten groups, selected by members of the association, the chance to present their latest creations. Focusing first and foremost on the artistic and creative quality of the musicians – above and beyond any trends or commercial pressures – these Jazz Tours allow each musician’s personality to blossom.
Swing, bop, funk, fusion, avant-garde and more, all jazz has a voice.
Come and discover the richness of our French-speaking Belgian jazz in excellent conditions and in one of the friendliest atmospheres in the world!
A warm welcome to all.

About our concerts in Brussels
Every year from October to May, Les Lundis d’Hortense organises jazz concerts in Brussels at various cultural venues around the capital. In the north-east of Brussels, in the smallest commune in the Brussels region (Saint-Josse-Ten-Noode), Les Lundis d’Hortense welcomes you every Wednesday evening at the Jazz Station, a living centre for jazz in Brussels opened in 2006. In the upmarket district of Ixelles, the association occasionally joins forces with Flagey, Sounds Jazz Club and the Théâtre Marni. Last but not least, the concerts programmed by Les Lundis d’Hortense also take place at the Senghor, the cultural centre of Etterbeek.
As always, the programming of our concerts is entrusted to our administrators: professional musicians and well-informed music lovers. They listen to and blindly select their favourite artists and groups to be presented during the 2023-2024 season. From traditional jazz to avant-garde, Les Soirs d’Hortense offers a highly eclectic programme of concerts, showcasing jazz artists and groups from every generation.
In all, around 30 concerts to savour without moderation!

International Jazz Day
A day to celebrate jazz, its roots and influence
On 30 April, the whole world celebrates jazz
In November 2011, legendary pianist Herbie Hancock and Unesco launched the International Jazz Day. This day aims to bring together communities, schools, musicians of all styles and ages from around the world to celebrate jazz, its roots and influence. Recognized as one of the key aspects of humankind’s cultural heritage, this music promotes peace, respect for human rights and human dignity. In its various forms, jazz embodies cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue between artists and communities.
Our programme
April 30 is a great opportunity for us to promote Belgian jazz and defend music synonymous with freedom, sharing and adventure. From the start, we have been celebrating International Jazz Day by organizing different original activities in Brussels every year.
