A thirty-year old trio, with still plenty to say and share, is something rare without needing to point that out. Trio Grande’s fire comes ablaze with all kinds of wood, blends rhythms with emotions, the serious with the eccentric, different kinds of jazz with other music. Trio Grande, it’s a party for spirit and mind.
Trio Grande. That’s a trio that know the meaning of “big.” Large spaces, large spirit, bold ideas. Thanks to a set of drums, percussions, a tenor, bagpipes, a flute, a trombone and an euphonium, Trio Grande shoot in all directions. With them, nothing’s forbidden, if only perhaps the lack of ideas. And that’s all the ensemble has. If their last album was called “Impertinence,” it wasn’t random. In jazz, fanfare, folk or funky blues mode, these three artists will knock you from your seat and jostle your emotions as much as prickle your skin. With them, you dance, you laugh, you sing, get moved. The balance’s fragile but adds to the excitement of this unique music they’ve been molding, with good humor, for the past thirty years… and without a wrinkle! Let yourself get carried away, be surprised, Laurent Dehors, Michel Debrulle and Michel Massot will teach you how to “breathe big” again!
